Ditch the apron and head out on a festive extravaganza during your 2017 Cape Town Christmas. Delectable dining is up for grabs at many of the city’s most celebrated restaurants this Christmas.

Lunch and dinner is on offer at several top restaurant locations throughout the city. Take your pick from these:

Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa

Azure Restaurant nestles on the shorefront at this premier hotel where you can lap up the luxury with a four course set menu on Christmas Eve and a Christmas Day lunch buffet.

You can look forward to several high-end festive treats like White Chocolate Eggnog, citrus and honey roasted duck and Chalmar beef fillet.

The Christmas Lunch Buffet features a lavish display of charcuterie made in-house, smoked salmon trout and smoked snoek. Christmas crackers, party hats, live music and a visit from Santa add to this joyous event on Christmas Day.

Cape Town Marriott Hotel Crystal Towers

Crystal Towers takes your culinary Christmas to new heights with a sumptuous buffet on both days.

Elevate your Christmas Eve with a mouth-watering buffet served from 6h30 pm. The spread includes a selection of exquisite cold salads such as watermelon and feta, or seafood and lime. Add to that a wholesome selection of warm side dishes to go with the meat carvery of turkey, roast sirloin, lamb and kassler. A range of yummy desserts follows including Black forest Christmas trifle, poached pears and strawberry cheesecake.

The best part is you can do it all again on Christmas Day, for lunch and dinner!

The Grande Roche Hotel

Bosman’s Restaurant will be ablaze with good cheer on Christmas Eve with a 5-course, 5-star dinner. Relax on the terrace and enjoy the late, late Cape sunset while you tuck in to suitably decadent dishes and desserts.

The menu has not been revealed as yet, but you can bet it’s going to be good on both days.
Christmas Day sees a host of children’s activities such as a water slide and face painting, while the adults chill to the tunes of a live band.

Christmas at Asoka

Gather around the old olive tree at Asoka for your Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas lunch this year and let them bring the goodness to you.

Dishes include beef filet and pico de galo, aubergine stuffed with olive and feta as well as succulent crayfish tails.

Dessert is a deconstructed take on the old favourites – mince pies and Christmas trifle.

Kloof Street House Christmas Lunch and Dinner

Head to Kloof Street House for some classic Victorian elegance. Dine under the pressed ceilings of this immaculately preserved haven of sophistication.

There’s duck breast, prawn and avo cocktail, pineapple glazed gammon, roast lamb shoulder, crème brulée and chocolate ginger torte on the menu. Also, Christmas cake. You don’t get much more Christmassy than that.

Hilton City Centre Christmas Dining

A festive feast is up for grabs at the Hilton City Centre on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Dine by candlelight at the Signal Hill Terrace overlooking views of the city and plates of breads, canapes, a carvery and desserts.

Christmas Day brings a smorgasbord of antipasti, salads, seafood dishes, a hot buffet and sweet treats a la Candy Wonderland. A live cooking station adds to the ambience created by the live jingles in the background.

Going it Alone

If you prefer to DIY your dinner, make tracks to a secluded spot for a moonlit picnic or a seaside lunch.  There are so many ways to avoid slaving over the stove during the Cape Town holidays.
